Ops 1939-45 recreates the Royal Air Force, Womens Auxiliary Air Force and Allied Air Forces of World War Two.
Using original uniform, flying clothing and everyday items from the period, we are one of the leading R.A.F. re-enactment group in Great Britain.
In 2000, the R.A.F. invited us to appear at the Royal International AirTattoo at R.A.F. Cottesmore, to crowds of thousands, We represented a typical Fighter Squadron 'at readiness' during the Battle of Britain. Taking our place next to no less than six Spitfires and three Hurricanes, we mingled with Veterans of the original Battle, including Squadron Leader Lee (501City of Gloucester Squadron) and Basil 'stapme' Stapleton (603 City of Edinburgh Squadron)
Since then our numbers have grown steadily with many new enthusiastic members joining our ranks.
Our main objective is to pay tribute to the young men and women who served with the
R.A.F. , W.A.A.F. and Allied Airforces during
World War Two, and who so often paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live in freedom today.
