Towards the end of the 2005 display season the members of Ops 39-45 after many months of research constructed an Operations Room Plotting table authentic in every detail to the original except for size, It was decided to build a smaller version so as to be portable enough for us to take to the many events we attend, great care was taken to make everything as it should be and many hours of research were spent in the plotting rooms at Duxford, Digby, and Uxbridge. The table was constructed along with all the ancillary's such as Angels, Rakes, Plotting trays, Sqd plaques, and all the associated markers.
For the display the public are taken through a sequence of plotting and are shown how the raids were actually plotted on the table. Two Hostiles are placed on the table and their movements plotted until it becomes evident they are intent on mischief, the squadron situated nearby is then brought to readiness and finally scrambled to intercept the hostile raid.
The display was performed for the first time at the Duxford Airshow in September of 2005, and as can be seen from the pictures below was a great success the table will be at most of the Duxford events this year and also a few others on our schedule.
