OPS 39-45 IN MALTA

21st-29th September 2005

During September 2005 OPS 39-45 attended The Merlin's over Malta
celebrations on the Island, and along with the renown Living History group "The Garrison" spent a total of eight glorious days amongst the veterans of the campaign.
We were indeed privileged to be invited to form the "Guard of Honour" parade for the veterans at both Malta Airport for their arrival and also at the Malta International Airshow. Other events included the opening of the memorial hangar at Ta Quali and also manning the plotting table at the "Lascaris War Rooms".
Throughout our stay we were made to feel most welcome where ever we went and were indeed fortunate enough to meet many Veterans each with a story to tell.
I would like to say "Thank You" to Keith Brigstock and to all of " The Garrison" for making it all happen and for the pleasure of your company throughout our stay on the Island. I would also like to thank the Maltese people who made us all so welcome where ever we went, a finer bunch there is not. Finally I would like to thank all the Veterans of the campaign that we were fortunate enough to meet, it is for you we do what we do.
